January 22nd, 2025
Myanmar, a beautiful but impoverished country bordering India, Bangladesh, China, and Thailand, has endured the world’s longest civil war — nearly eight decades. With over 100 ethnic groups, the military junta ruling the nation has perpetrated genocide, ethnic cleansing, and human rights violations, suppressing all opposition with severe consequences.
Into this darkness, God is using Church Renewal International (CRI) to connect, renew, and equip pastors and churches through weekly online mentoring. These pastors, who face tremendous hardship, persecution, and even imprisonment, are among the most spiritually hungry in all of CRI. They are about to experience their first-ever Set Free! Retreat.

HninHnin Yee, a CRI participant from Rakhine State (where there is no freedom of travel or basic services), recently risked her life to attend. Traveling 15 days by bus and on foot across mountainous terrain, she escaped Rakhine and finally reached Yangon City, where the retreat will take place on January 23-24, 2025.
HninHnin Yee's Journey
CRI has sponsored hundreds of Set Free! Retreats worldwide, bringing freedom and healing to thousands. Few will be embraced as enthusiastically and sacrificially as this one in Myanmar.
Pray for the Holy Spirit’s protection, power, deliverance and freedom for the 50 Myanmar pastors attending their first Set Free! Retreat.
