They came by bus, travelling for eight to 15 hours. One travelled for 15 days on foot, hiding in forests and crossing a river. All to attend the first-ever Set Free! Retreat in Yangon City, Myanmar. The 50 pastors and church workers who attended the retreat were deeply impacted by the renewal practices of confession, repentance, forgiveness, emotional healing and deliverance.
Myanmar pastors attending the Set Free! Retreat
I can’t believe I would have the courage to confess my sins to God and to others about watching a lot of horror movies and pornography. I thank Jesus for setting me free!
I have seriously doubted and judged my wife that she cheated on me. I couldn’t trust her anymore. Before the retreat, I had already prepared to divorce her. But the Spirit of God spoke to me and corrected me. I realized I was wrong. The Holy Spirit encouraged me to humble myself and confess my sins for judging her, and I have committed to correcting my ways and staying in our marriage.
Our house was destroyed by the military. I hated and cursed them because they do bad things to godly people. In this retreat, God spoke to me and released me from hatred, and I was able to extend forgiveness to them.
As a result of the Set Free Retreat, 35 pastors and church leaders have signed up for weekly online mentoring beginning March 3.
Pray for the 35 pastors and church leaders in Myanmar who have signed up for weekly online mentoring, that the renewal practices will take root in their lives and in their churches.
