Renewal in action: Stories from Church Renewal Weekend

This October, 101 pastors and church leaders from 12 different countries attended Church Renewal Weekend. This four-day event, hosted by Southland Church in Steinbach, Manitoba, was an opportunity for delegates to see renewal practices and tools firsthand.
The Sunday night Prayer Summit was a meaningful time of worship and prayer as believers from around the world prayed together in English, Spanish, and French. One part of the meeting that particularly impacted delegates was when members of Southland Church listened in prayer for them. Here are a few testimonies of how Jesus spoke to them at this time:

“I was able to see this praying church in action in the Prayer Summit. I had the opportunity to be with a group of elders. I shared my needs and our needs in Mexico, and I received a word from all the elders there. I saw this in action, a praying church. God is speaking through them. They are receiving, they are hearing from God and then sharing the message.”

“One thing that really helped me this weekend was the simplicity of heart and simplicity in how things were done. It was simple and profound, and you could sense the Holy Spirit was there to deliver the messages. That touched me deeply.
[At the Prayer Summit] a group prayed over me — five people — and three of them received messages. Simple as that: God spoke to them, and it was accurate. I just thought, ‘Wow, God speaks to ordinary church members.’ It was fantastic.”
